Another Friday, another Lolita Blog Carnival Post :)

Today's topic is: "What are you thankful for in Lolita"

There are a lot of things I am thankful for. Here is a short list:

  • not having to shave my legs
  • Bloomers and how they make me feel secure
  • the 2nd hand market
  • shopping services
  • earrings that you can screw on to your ear
... and of course the friends that I made over the time <3

Lolita Blog Carnival: Who inspires you in Lolita

Good Morning everybody!

It's Nikolo day here in Austria. Traditionally St. Nikolaus (who is Santa Claus in many countries) brings nuts and oranges to the children. You have to put your shoes out over night and he stuffs it with stuff. I surprised my boyfriend by filling up his shoe with peanuts, satsumas and some fancy cinnamon chocolate :D

Anyhow, it's another Friday which means: Lolita Blog Carnival Day! WOOHOO!! Todays topic is "Who inspires you in Lolita fashion?". There are several people who inspire me when it comes to Lolita. One of them is Misako Aoki. She is just the cutest and so darn pretty.

Picture taken from her Twitter account.
She sometimes makes some bold fashion choices that I would not expect and that's what makes her so interesting.

Misako also introduced me to my 2nd inspiration: Katie! Katie has the most adorable pins and ribbons and buttons. They over all make some freaking cute adorable accessories.

Katie Rosette baby toys kids rosette
LOOK AT IIIIIT!! And they have some nice pin-up rosettes too! It's unfortunate that they don't ship overseas. Using a shopping service to buy a 2€ pin seems excessive.

Last but not least, what probably inspires me the most in Lolita fashion is: *insert drum roll* Lolita dresses! Just 3 weeks ago I got a new dress that I bought from CC without really thinking about it and it kick-started my love for the fashion all over again. It's really great when you have a dress that "talks" to you and inspires you to do all different kind of outfits.

Lolita Blog Carnival: What does your family think about Lolita?

Todays topic of the Lolita Blog Carnival is "What does your family think about Lolita?"

Simple. They don't care.

My Mom gets angry at people, who stare too much.
My Dad never sees me in Lolita.
My boyfriends is happy as long as I am happy but he would prefer more boobies and jelly!

So what does your family think about you wearing Lolita? Leave me a comment!

Lolita Blog Carnival: Book Inspired Outfit

Good day and welcome to my 2nd entry for the Lolita Blog Carnival.

Todays topic is "Book Inspired Outfit". I was so excited about that when I first read it. Since I love to read, this should have been a walk in the park. Easy peasy!

Weeell... it wasn't.

The first thing that came to my mind was of course an "Alice in Wonderland" inspired outfit. I have done the Mad Hatter before (twice actually) but that's exactly why I didn't want to do it again. It's getting old. "Red Riding Hood" was another thing that I didn't want to do because it was too easy. There are a lot of Red Riding Hood themed dresses, pair it with a cape and your done. Everybody can do that and everybody is probably going to that. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I just wanted to challenge myself with this one.

So I kept on thinking. I thought about doing it based on "The Picture Of Dorian Gray" but I had no real idea about it, it just would have sound cool ^-^". Another thing I thought about was a complete coordinate without a petticoat. Why without a petticoat? Well, so I could call it "Flatland" themed. Yeah, I went there.

The last idea I had was by far the weirdest and creepiest. Also a little funny. But mostly weird. Anyhow. My idea was to borrow the dress "Sheep Garden" (Angelic Pretty) from a friend, taping all the little sheep mouths shut with black tape and call it "Silence Of The Lamb".

I am sick. But it's kind of hilarious, isn't it? ^-^ The only problem is, I don't know anybody who owns the dress. Boo Hoo...

If you want to hear the whole story and see the outfit I ultimately picked, check out my video:

Lolita Blog Carnival: How I got started in Lolita Fashion

HAHA! I finally did it! I am now part of the project "Lolita Blog Carnival". Oh, this will be so much fun ^-^YAY!!

Well, how you doin'?
Todays topic is "How I got started in Lolita Fashion".

*sigh* I hate to talk about it, you know? It's not a very nice story. It all started in 2007 when a very hurtful breakup from my best friend at the time made me want to hurt her just as bad as she hurt me. We have been very close for years and she was the one who introduced me to Lolita fashion. It was shortly after my 18th birthday when I voiced to her that I am suffering badly from abandonment issues and that I feel like I'm being left out. Unfortunately she made the grave mistake... and left me out. Not on purpose, I know that now but back then it broke my heart.

Out of basically pure hatred (I'm an Aries and a Snake, which is an unfortunate pairing because it makes me double headstrong and very shortsighted, once I enter rage-mode. Not that everybody is like that... but I am. I'm working on it though), I started to research Lolita Fashion. I wanted to become the bestest Lolita EVAR and just rub it in her face that I can do what she can't. Do you see why I don't like to tell this story? But it is what it is and I won't sugarcoat it.

After I signed up for Dunkelsüß in the summer of 2008, the German Lolita comm., I very quickly I realized that what I was wearing at the time, wasn't Lolita at all. NOT EVEN CLOSE! So I sewed my first JSK, white with a strawberry print and, TADA, my first Lolita outfit was created. It was pretty bad. Firstly because my sewing skills weren't that good yet, secondly because I had nothing but a JSK. No cute blouse, no socks, no shoes, no head bow. That outfit sucked! I'm not even sure I have a picture of it.

My second outfit was light blue and white, a babydoll OP. That one was SO MUCH WORSE!! Seriously... bad bad bad... Thinking back now, I am very glad that there are no pictures. The thought alone makes me cringe XD

Half a year later I'm in Paris, buying my first Baby, the stars shine bright velvet JSK and I was hooked! To this day I'm wearing it and it's very unlikely that I will ever part with it.

Here are all the other LBC-Blogs so please take a look:

Want of the day!

Hey guise!

I think I will start this new segment called "want of the day". It's pretty self-explanatory ^-^ It's the thing that I want most for that day.

So, the first item is a pair of sunglasses. I saw them yesterday in one of the Tokio Fashion Streetsnaps.

ugh... aren't they gorgeous? I am totally in love with them. Just, how awesome are those glasses? The glasses are by a desigern called Ann-Sofie Back, she is from Sweden and she designed the glasses for her horror movie inspired show back in 2009. Since they are so "old" already, they are sold out everywhere. They also did cost around 300$, so totally out of my prize range XD

Unfortunately for me nobody ever made a knock-off of those glasses because they weren't popular enough but I want the original anyway so that wouldn't help me. I'm sure somebody somewhere would be willing to sell me those glasses but finding this particular person could take a while... ^-^

I like this segment. Hopefully you do too! Tell my your wants of the day down in the comments :D

About the Tea Party and keeping secrets

The last months have been PURE torture! As you may have seen, yesterday the society Gothic Lolita Austria announced the first Innocent World Tea Party in Vienna. Now, I have been part of this project since the beginning. I helped with the blog, I made the flyer and I'm the official Twitter-woman ^-^ and I am so proud to be part of this! That is why I wanted to tell everybody about it but I couldn't because it was a secret.

I'm just so, so freaking proud of what we managed to build from the ground that I wanted to jell it from the roof tops :D The hours and hours of work that went into planning this event and we are not even done yet. There are so many things more to do... We need to look for models, we need to think about seating situation and we need to manage the ticket sale, which is hopefully not going to be as though as I think it will be.

Anyhow, here are all the links you need if you want to visit our Event:

Cake Pops Fail

Good afternoon miladies!

On this fine day I want to share with you how very much I failed at making cake pops XD

This is one of the more pretty cake pops I made. The rest, unfortunately, look a little... squished. Most of them fell apart when I tried to dip them in the couverture chocolate. I'm not sure if my method was wrong or if the balls where too big or if I didn't put the sticks deep enough into the cake mix. It was really frustrating :/ but I will probably try them again soon just to figure out what went wrong.

I got the recipe from this site: Honigkuchenpferd. The cake itself was super yummy, the cake pops (though smushed) were quite amazing too! Face-stuffingly-good! Damn, they were tasty...

Anyhow, did you ever try cake pops? Did you make them or did you buy them? Tell me in the comments below!

Getting better at doing stuff :D

Hey Ladies (and Gents but I doubt many boys read my blog. Leave a comment if you are a boy :D))

I made a little header today. Nothing special really but considering that my Photoshop skills are still very sucky I'm really proud of anything I produce that doesn't look like shit ^-^ Like I said, it's nothing special but the Gothic Lolita Austria comm needed a header for a blog to announce stuff on. So this is what I came up with.

I took the picture at the last winter meet-up and since those two were wearing Innocent World, I took a quick look at their homepage and noticed those vintage roses. If you are trying to make a header and you have no skills, like me, I would suggest you look for freebie clip arts and put them all together until you are satisfied. At least that's what I did :D

Do you like the little header? I think the two Ladies look so adorable.

Are you enjoying the weather so far? It's so beautiful out here in Vienna. Tell me in the comments below what's your favourite thing to do in Spring!

There is a little Gyaru in all of us

Spring is finally here! YAY! It took long enough...

Anyhow, normally when I'm not in Lolita I wear jeans and a t-shirt. I just don't care about the way I look on a normal day when all I do is go to uni and shit. But I wasn't happy with that anymore and because Lolita is so very complicated I decided to try a little Gyaru. I'm not a Gyaru nor will I ever be. The nail stuff and the crazy makeup every day... ain't nobody got time fo dat XD but Gyaru inspires me to be a little more fashionable on a daily basis and to be more comfortable with my body. So here are 2 Outfits of the day:

F21 from head to toe plus my handmade collar

Shorts, Tights: F21
Shirt: Bodyline
Cardigan: Swimmer
Collar, Headbow: handmade

No makeup because I'm moving again (moving in with the boyfriend to save on rent money *fork yeah*) and I'm not entirely sure where I put my makeup bag... I'm not very organized XD

Sorry my recent posts haven't been about Lolita so much but I will get back to it soon! I hope you are having a nice start into the weekend. I'm currently sipping on a Vodka-Orange (it's sooo groos, I hate Vodka XD)). What are your plans for the weekend? Tell me in the comments below!

All New And Shiny: Party 2?

HA! I dyed my hair.

So after I had this really horrible day yesterday (it was getting worse by the minute, you have no idea) I went out to buy some nail polish. I really needed something to cheer me up. Really, really. But unfortunately they didn't have the one I wanted. Meh, meh...

That's why I went straight to the hair dye and picked up a bottle. I knew my hair wouldn't turn out like the picture because my hair was too dark but bleaching before hand would have been waaaay too much work so I thought to myself "fork it, let's do dat!".

Now I'm a ginger...

Nice try L'oreal Paris XD Didn't quite turn out right... but then again, fork it! It doesn't matter. Ginger is fine!
Anyhow, I posted this picture on Facebook and my Mom started to argue how "Strawberry Love" is just the most stupid name ever and then my lil'bro comes along, he is almost 11 years old, and comments: "You are the sweetest sister even if your hair is ugly LOL". That made me laugh so hard!

All I need now is... still that stupid nail polish. Seriously, I need it! XD

I hope you are having a great day! Does Spring make you feel like change too? Tell me in the comments below.

Exploiting Stereotypes

I had to go to court today Ö__Ö

You need to now the back story here, not all of it though. Yesterday afternoon my Mom called me and told me that she got a notification that there was a letter for me from court and that I had to go there immediately but since it was already past 2.30 PM the responsible official went home for the day. The court is just 5 minutes away from the boyfriends place so I decided I would just go there the next day, straight from his place.

I spend the rest of the day with the boyfriend, wondering what it all could be about because I had no idea whatsoever. But... not once did it cross my mind that I don't have any spare clothes at the boyfriends and that I would have to go in the clothes that I was wearing at that moment, which was a tots adorable and horrible inappropriate outfit for court!

It's messy in the background, I know. Deal with it XD

Anyhow, I couldn't sleep at all and at 7.30 AM the next day, so today, I called the court so see what it was all about and if the responsible official was already in. She wasn't. So I called an hour later and a super grumpy and intimidating woman answered the phone, who told me I could come over but she is only there until 12.

At that point it hit me for the first time. I had no spare clothes at the boyfriends. I would have to go in frills. WOW. It would take me at least 2 hours to get home, change and go to the court but since it was 9AM by now and they close at 12, I didn't want to risk anything, after all I had no idea if I had to wait for an hour or even longer and didn't make the time limit. I never was at a court. I had no idea what would happen!

So I went to the court, sick to my stomach, dizzy and ready to cry my eyes out.

And now we come to the point where I exploit a certain stereotype, which would be the one of a the poor little helpless girl. I'm not proud of it but if I ever have to go to court again I will SHAMELESSLY do it again because never in my life have people been so nice and helpful.

I thought they would all be grumpy old officials and what not but it seems like wearing frills and ugly crying helps like nothing else. I got offered tissues, a cup of coffee, they explained me where to go, where to find the judge who could help me with my plea... just... SO NICE! I mean, my day is still ruined and I will have to stuff my face with cake but those people, treating me so nice, did make it a little more bearable.

By the way, do you like my hat? It's supposed to be Finns hat from Adventure Time with Finn and Jake but I didn't have any white yarn and I added some ribbons for more kawaii-ness XD This is the pattern if you are interested.

I dearly hope your day is better than mine. Tell me about your horrible days in the comments. Let's share the agony!

All New And Shiny!

Well hello there, beautiful? Come here often? ^-^

As you can see... I redid the layout of my blog! *YAY* I've gotten kinda sick of it over the last month but redoing a blog layout is a pain in the butt. Especially with the Blogger Templates... A NIGHTMARE!

But now my blog is all new and shiny, only the header is still old and sucks. Creating a new header with no photoshop skills what so ever would cost me a lot of time and even more nerves so I'm pushing it further and further away from me. My excuse is a pretty good one though. The time is better spend on university stuff, which is true! ;-) [EDIT: Changed the header. Couldn't live with it. Only took an hour to make -.-]

What did I change?
Well, the background obviously. I also changed from the Blogger Minimal Template to the Designer Template whatsitsface... Picture Window. Now I can adjust width and stuff easier but I also have to live with the weird template defaults but that's alright :D Then I switched from "Text - Page Elements" to "Page Elements - Text" which looks really weird to me right now, I have to get used to that. I deleted the blog pages 'cos ain't nobody got time fo dat and swapped some of the widgets in the sidebar. The most imortant thing I did was adding an "About Me" widget. Now all the new readers (not that I have that many XD)) know who is writing all this horse crap they are reading... *lol* just kidding.

That's my new profile pic. Isn't that just adorable? Sometimes I can look really cute!

What do you think about the new layout. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Talk to me in the comments! What did you have for breakfast today? Do you even eat breakfast? You shouldn't skip it, you know ;-)

Anyhow, have a wonderful day!

An Award

Hey guise!

My friend Jana_Ellena from Nerd Sweetmeat nominated me for an award... only, like, a month ago ^-^

The rules are the following:

Post 11 random facts about yourself.
Answer 11 questions, the blogger that nominated you asked.
Ask the bloggers you nominate 11 questions.
Nominate 11 bloggers and link their blogs in your post.
Make sure, you contact the bloggers that won!

So let's do this! I'm going to start with the 11 random facts.
  1. I watch an insane amount of TV series. I rather have a TV series run in the background when I'm working than music, actually.
  2. I don't leave my house without my kindle.
  3. Most of the times I'm too lazy to wear (high) heels.
  4. I'm so terrified of sharks I stay away from any kind of freshwater, like lakes and rivers. The freaking bull shark has an organ that can save salt and regulates the salt content in their bodies. That means they can freaking survive in freshwater. Freaking bull shark!
  5. If I had to choose between eating only raisins or only beans for the rest of my life, I would starve to death.
  6. My home is were my sewing machine is.
  7. I'm hoarding music. So far I own around 400GB. actually it's closer to 450...
  8. My absolute favourite city is Paris and I miss it sooo much!
  9. I love to confuse people with my analog camera. It's hilarious!
  10. Cartoons are awesome.
  11. I think people should wear more hats! Because hats are the shizzle!

Here are Janas 11 questions:
  1. Did you ever dye your hair? If yes which colour(s)? - Nope, at least not at the moment. I'm trying to grow out the black that's still left in my hair.
  2. Are you fan of a special sports thema or sport? If yes which one? - Nope, sports are the worst XD
  3. Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings? - LofR
  4. Which Star Trek Captain do you like best? - Picard, fool!
  5. What´s you favourite perfume? - I only use one (Coco Mademoiselle) because perfumes give me a headache and I used Coco Mademoiselle for so long I don't actually smell it any longer.
  6. Did you ever sew clothing? What did you sew? - Yes, I sew clothes. For a living ;)
  7. Do you like Fish? - I don't hate it
  8. What´s your favourite Cocktail? - White Russian, dude
  9. Do you have any pets? Which pets do you have? - Well, my roommate has two cats
  10. What´s you favourite fashion brand? - Angelic Pretty, I guess.
  11. What do you expect from life? - MONEY MONEY MONEY (not really though ^-^)
I know, I'm supposed to nominate 11 people myself but... I'm not even sure I know 11 other bloggers Ö__Ö that's why I'm going to skip that. Sorry!

How was your day so far, tell me in the comments!

Things that have happened!

in the last month I have been absent, for several reasons. It had to do with a Lolita secret that I got and some other stuff. BUT! I'm finally in the mood for writing again! I won't promise anything, maybe this mood will fade away soon but I sure hope not. The first thing I want to do is update you on some stuff that has happened in the last 9 month.

  • I moved. Yipp, I moved. From my home town Eisenstadt back to Vienna. I live with 2 girls and 2 cat, who hardly get so see me because I spend so much time with the boyfriend. If you want I show you my room in detail but at the moment take a look at this awesome window!

  • The boyfriend and I had our first anniversary, which is pretty special because I suck at relationships but it seems to work with this particular "booboo" ^-^ He is awesome! He got me the best Christmas present ever. Be jealous XD

  • Two new cameras are now living with me. Well, one is new, the other one is old but new to me. The boyfriend and I bought a DSLR cam. It's a Nikon D5100, an awesome camera for beginners and great for making videos (which I really like to do lately). The other one is a Canon EOS 300, an analog camera, you know, where you have to use film and have the pictures developed. Taking pictures with an analog camera confuses the shit out of people, it's truly hilarious! But I'm going to tell you all about it later.

  • I started writing an ebook. Two to be precise. It's always been a dream of mine to get published but since I suck at writing anything longer than a blogentry and getting published is a shitload of work that I'm not willed to do, it will probably never happen, which is fine because in the time and age of technology I can "publish" myself. Well, I doubt that I will ever let anybody read the rubbish I write but it feels so nice to put your own words on your kindle and it looks like a real book! To be honest, creating the style sheet so the writing looks like, is formatted to look like a real book was the most fun. No, that's not true. Creating the style sheet was a pain in the butt and took FOREVER but the end result is awesome! Oh yeah, btw, I got a kindle and I love it so much I don't leave the house without it.

I'm sure it happened a lot more than just those 4 things but I have all the time in the world to tell you about it :) How were your last 9 month? Anybody got pregnant? XD Tell me in the comments below, I want to hear all about it!

British Country Side Lolita

Nargh... I'm so lazy when it comes to blogging! I'm really sorry! It just doesn't happen...

So, yesterday was the 7th annual Winter Meet-Up in Vienna and I decided to go because what else am I going to do on a lazy Sunday? ^-^

I was wearing an outfit that I like to call "British Country Side Lolita" because, let's be honest, I look like I'm attending a fox hunt. Maybe I shouldn't have buttoned the blazer for the picture but it was freaking cold and that's an acceptable excuse for looking morbidly obese (Gawd dang it, I'm cynic today... Sorry for that!).

Outfit Rundown:
Hat: P. & C. Habig
Scarf: s'Oliver
Blazer: H&M
JSK: Baby, the Stars shine bright

The meet-up was a lot of fun. We took pictures outside and inside, with coats on and off. For entertainment we went to a museum (MAK - Museum für angewandte Kunst "Museum for applied arts") and made fun of the art we didn't understand. I have the highest respect for artists but modern art is beyond my understanding. I just don't get it XD

After that we had dinner at a small cafe across from the museum. The waiter was super incompetent and unfriendly but the nice people around me made it worth my time. It's always so much fun to meet a large group of Lolitas :D

When was your last big meet-up and what did you do that day? Tell me in the comments below!
