Hairy Problems

Hello Ladies!

Since January I've been thinking about what I want to do with my hair. In my blog entry "I WANT I WANT I WANT" I wrote about all the different colours I had and what I want and what wasn't possible because of the black in my hair -.- Yesterday I finally decided that I need to change something.

In the last 3 month I used a special cleansing shampoo that helped with getting rid of the red. It was slowly fading into a copper brown but the black stayed black. Yesterday I bleached the black part of my hair 3 times, 20 minutes each, and the black was still pretty much black. I felt like crying. I did not know what to do with it because if an hour of bleach doesn't get rid of the black, what would?

Angry and out of options I slapped the brown colour on my patchy bleached yellow hair and half an hour later I was a Ginger...

Now how the hell did that happen? The colour is far from "hazelnut brown" which it should have been. It's copper. I'm a Ginger and I hate it! In my opinion I look like a pig :(

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the colour because I hate Gingers. Well, I do like to tell mean Ginger jokes (which doesn't hurt them because they have no soul anyways) but only because of pure jealousy ^^ Gingers are one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet and I simply can't pull off that particular hair colour. It makes me look very pink and piglet like. It does NOT work for me -.-
Before I can dye my hair again, I need to wait until my scalp calms down. The brown hair dye hurt like a mothereffer.

Any hair trouble going on with you? Tell me in the comments below.

My Inspiration

ATTENTION! If you are easily grossed out or if you are a sensitive person, you might not want to read this blog entry! You have been warned. Yes, I'm serious about that. I really really mean it!

If you are a regular reader of mine, you saw the paragraph  above once before and I could have written something else but, let's be honest, I'm lazy XD

Today I had something very special in the mail. I ordered it about 3 or 4 weeks ago, it took 2 weeks to make and around 10 days to finally get to me and I'm so happy about it.

Meet my inspiration:

This are 3 cats and 2 doves, they are made out of resin, so they are not real. I think they are adorable and cute. For quite some time now, I had this very strange fascination for bones and organs. It started with my fake human heart (I would love to own a real one) and since then all this morbid stuff really inspired me.

Yes this is weird and I feel strange to admit it but that's how it is ^^ I'm really looking forward to work with it.

Oh lazyness...

I am currently lying in bed, with a headache and a weak stomach, because yesterday I went out to celebrate my not-birthday and I was stupid enough to drink 4 cocktails and 1 long drink in 2 hours ^^ Drink responsibly, kids. Don't be stupid like I am! That amount of alcohol in that amount of time is just ridiculous and with 23 I should know better but apparently I don't... (btw, I regret NOTHING XD)
What was it I wanted to write about...? Oh yes! I celebrated my not-birthday (my birthday was a month ago but somehow it took that long to find a date that was a fit for most of my friends and since my birthday was so long ago I didn't want to call it a birthday party) and I had the biggest trouble to find an outfit. As always. I had an outfit in my head but unfortunately the dress to that outfit is still a piece of fabric ^^

In January I ordered a pair of socks and some fabric to match the socks but then the fabric order was delayed and I didn't get it until the beginning of April. When I finally got the fabric it turned out that the fabric didn't match the socks at all.

It doesn't look that horrible in the picture but the colours really don't match. The white stripes in the socks are grey-ish and it just doesn't work, which angers me because I want it to work. The outfit I imagine looks sooo sweet!

The socks still have the tag on and the little clip that keeps the toe part together. I didn't even try them on yet :/ There is nothing in my closet that would work with those socks but I don't want to give them away because after all I'm hoping it looks good in the end...

Being the realistic optimist that I am (<== which means I'm a pessimist but it sounds less negative), I don't want to start sewing the dress because it would disappoint me so hard if it turns out the way I think it will turn out, miserably looking and mismatched :/

And also... my room is messy and before I could start sewing I would have to clean it. I really don't want to do that ^^

So tell me, how do you react to outfits that don't turn out the way you want them to? Do you get annoyed and angry like me? Or do you shrug it off?

Sometimes you just need to shut the ef up!

Hello Ladies! Long time no read.

Some days ago I got into a stupid argument with a girl on youtube. Youtube is actually my favourite thing to waste my time with and I watch videos about everything! The videos I watch mostly are about fashion, make-up, cooking or they are comedic web series but I also like to watch this one awesome guy that makes video game props, like full Skyrim armours and Zelda shields (He also has videos on how to forge reals swords! Real swords! With metal and fire and holy crap!).

However, there is that one girl who does make-up tutorial and such. She is cute and I enjoyed watching her (not for the tutorial really, mostly because of her look and her voice). Last week she up loaded a fashion video and I saw what styles she tried to show her viewers but, to be quite frank, she failed. I have no idea what came over me but I decided to write her a message, telling her that she should maybe stick with the make-up because the fashion thing was not her thing. I tried to make it as positive as possible, I used the word "sorry" a lot and I really didn't mean to offend her, I just wanted to give her some feedback but of course she got offended.

She got offended, told me that I was rude and that she wouldn't dress like me but she also would never tell me that I dress poorly, she would just "chalk it up to different styles." Now... that pissed me off. I know, I started it by giving her a not 100% positive feedback but what she said hit a nerve.

That's the outfit I wore in the video she saw. It's a well co-ordinated outfit. The colours are balanced out and, in my opinion, it effing suits me!

The thing is, people look at us Lolitas and only see oddly dressed girls, with weird dresses but to be a good Lolita, you have to have a great fashion sense. The saying: "Brand only doesn't make a good Lolita", is 100% true. You need to know how to put the pieces together. We don't "dress poorly" because we have no fashion sense. It's the people who only see "not normal", "not according to the run-of-the-mill fashion rules".

Well, at that point I decided that I was stupid to think that she would accept my feedback and that it would have been better to just "STFU"!

To bo or not to be...

ATTENTION! If you are easily grossed out or if you are a sensitive person, you might not want to read this blog entry! You have been warned. Yes, I'm serious about that. I really really mean it!

So, moving on.

Hello Ladies ^^

You probably know that I'm in love with my Lolita community because we have very nice, caring people and almost no drama :D Another thing would be that, for birthdays, we manage to mobilize quite a big amount of money. It's not unusual for our community to pool money and buy the birthday kid a dress from Closet Child or something similar expensive.

Long story short: We give awesome presents! And yesterday I got my very amazing present.

It's a cat skull. Yes. A cat skull. I wanted one for quite some time now because I think they are amazing and beautiful and very inspirational for me. It's so pretty *____*

The skull, I don't know if it is female or male, still needs a name. Edward sounds nice, I really love that name but Stephenie Meyer ruined that for me, you know, with all the sparkling and such. Maybe I call him Abraham, since I'm obsessed with the book "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter".

What would you call your cat skull? XD Tell me in the comments below!

How to twinklify

Hello Ladies!

So, yesterday I told you about my addiction to rhinestones and today I want to tell you how I did my glasses.

At the Emilie Autumn concert a girl said to me that she didn't recognize me because I wasn't wearing my heart shaped glasses. I think it's cool that the glasses kind of became my thing and that people connect them to me. That's something I really like ^^

The glasses I wear in the picture above are sunglasses and I removed the glass because I never wore those as sunglasses. I didn't have enough red rhinestones to cover the entire frame so I ended up using little black plastic bows, which are usually used for nail art.

If you want glasses that look more like real glasses, you can get them online (ebay or amazon) or at H&M in the mens department. That's where I got mine but they were a bit pricey.

You will need:
- 1 pair of glasses (duh...)
- about 200 to 300 rhinestones (3mm in diameter)
- rhinestone glue (You get that on amazon too if you can't find it at your local craft store. The "E6000" glue works really well. I wouldn't recommend superglue tough)
- something to pick up the rhinestones (tweezers work but I prefer a nail art dotting tool, I talk about that later)
- and about 1 hour to twinklify :D

To pick up the rhinestones I use a nail art dotting tool. Mine is from essence and I got it for maybe 2€.  I cover the tip with kneadable eraser because the eraser is sticky, so it picks up the rhinestones, but it's not too sticky that it wouldn't let go of the rhinestone (Patafix works too). You don't have to use a dotting tool, you could use a pencil, a brush, a knitting needle, etc.

There is really no right or wrong way to glue on the stones but I have some useful tips for you: If you want plastic parts on your glasses, like the little bows I used, glue them on first and work your way around them with the rhinestones. Don't cover the entire frame with glue at once, it will dry before you can place all the stones. Place the stones so they don't go over the edge into the your field of vision. It's really annoying if you have something sparkly distracting you. Leave out the temple stem and the nose pad, your hair will get caught in the stones on the temple and rhinestones on the nose pad would be really uncomfortable. That's about it!

About the rhinestones: I find the ones with 3mm in diameter work best, the have the perfect size. The backs have to be flat, otherwise you can't glue them on (duh... again ^^). I ordered my rhinestones and pearls from Fullmoon. You get 400 piece for 1$, which is a real good deal. She also has cabochons for nail art or deco projects. However, Sophie&Toffee has a greater colour range. It's also a bit more pricey.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I hope you have fun twinklifying your glasses!

I'm an addict

I'm an addict. I twinklify ALL THE THINGS! ^^

Two weeks ago I ordered a bunch of rhinestones and some flat back pearls. Now I can't stop gluing them on to every possible thing that I can grab ^^ I even pealed off the rhinestones from my iPod to redo the design. If I could twinklify my bloomers, I would do so!

My friend said, I'm not allowed to do his iPad. I think that's really unfair... of course I would do a manly design and don't use pink!
Dang it, I just sew a pencil that would look awesome with some rhinestones on it...

Do you have any weird obsessions or ridiculous addictions? Tell me in the comments below!
