Accessoires Tag

Another tag for me to do! YAY! This time Pikku Mansikka tagged me.

Here are the rules:
- Link the person that tagged you in your post.
- Show only one, maximum two, pieces in every category.
- Tell us why you picked that particular piece.
- Tag 5 more people and inform them.

My favourite bag

In my opinion bags have to be practical and this bag with a school-bag-look is super roomy and fits every casual outfit. That's why I love it so much.

My favourite shoes

My epic platforms that I just ruined :/ They are so adorable and awesome! I really hope I can find someone to repair the buckle :(

My favourite shawl/scarf

This is a just a simple black scarf, nothing special about it. BUT IT'S THE SOFTEST MATERIAL YOU EVER EVER TOUCH! Seriously, it's like liquid around your neck *__*

My favourite necklace

My Dreamy Bunny Necklace. I bought it for myself for my birthday. That must have been 2 years ago. It was outrageously expensive but I wear it so often, it was worth the money. At the moment I'm obsessed with red outfits and somehow the mint and pink fits quite good with the red outfits.

My favourite ring

A simple silver ring with a green stone. It doesn't close all the way, there is a tiny gap between the band of the ring and the stone. I love the design and it reminds me of a very special person.

My favourite earrings

The only piercing I have is this one. I wear it all the time, I think it's cute ^^

My favourite bracelet

nuff said ^^ though I don't get the chance to wear them that often :/

My favourite perfume

I have been using only one perfume for years now. I got a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle for Christmas 2008 and the thing is, perfumes give me a headache. So I only use this specific perfume that I'm used to and don't recognize any longer. I'm not even sure why my boyfriend at the time thought it was a good idea to give a bottle o__ô

My favourite nailpolish

I don't have a favourite nailpolish because I don't wear it on a daily basis, only for special occasions and then it depends on what I'm wearing ^^ but my Rimmel London Top Coat is a great top coat.

My favourite hair accessory

Simple, cute, matches almost anything ^^ Do I have to say more? I really like this head band because it completes a simple outfit or tones down a print-heavy outfit.

I tag anybody who wants to do the tag. Have fun with it and have a nice Sunday!

Being a Lolitas boyfriend!

In October last year I wrote a blog entry about what to wear on a first date. I want to continue this mini series and now write about what the Lolita boyfriend has to expect ^^

The idea to do this hit me when I was walking trough the Schönbrunn castle grounds. There are always a lot of tourists and when I saw the first with a camera in his hand, it came to me that it is not normal for normal people that tourists want to take pictures with/of them.

Schönbrunn is so pretty ♥___

So, what does a Lolita boyfriend have to expect?

The most obvious thing would be the stares. You, personally, may not notice any longer the way people stare at you but your boyfriend probably will (not if you two are head over heels in love and he has only eyes for you but sooner or later he will be aware of it ^^). I'm lucky enough that none of my boyfriends ever cared about it but it makes my Mom very uncomfortable, so go easy on your boyfriend if he ever voices misgivings. It may helps if you tell him that you don't mind or you could offer to dress a little more casual if it would make him feel more comfortable.

Another thing, like I already mentioned,  would be that tourists like to take pictures of Lolitas. It's not a big deal, just tell your boyfriend that it is possible, otherwise it may irritate him ^^

And for gods sake, don't ware a full on OTT outfit on a special anniversary! XD Lolitas are hard to undress and after the first few layers your guy will get annoyed and upset ^^

I don't want to give any relationship advise, I'm completely the wrong person for something like that but, generally, your boyfriend should accept you for who you are, no matter how frilly you dress. On the other hand, you should give your guy some credit that he can take all the crazy inside your closet and your head... or maybe that's just the case with me :D

Have a nice weekend!

"Befehl von ganz unten"

Hey Ladies?

How are you? I'm super fine! On Wednesday my friend took my to the Deichkind concert and it was AMAZING!

For all my readers outside of Germany, Switzerland or Austria Deichkind is a Hip-Hop/Electro band and their concerts are one huge party. I loved every minute of it. They were stage diving with a rubber dinghy, feeding Vodka and burger paddies to the audience and to the song "Roll das Fass rein" (roll in the barrel) they rolled in a giant barrel. It was sick! The front rows were all sweating like hell because of all the dancing and to the last song Deichkind threw feathers into the audience ^^ I still had feathers in my bra when I undressed later that night.

It was really overwhelming and so much to look at. They played all my favourite songs and more but the next time I will wear different shoes! I forgot my Doc. Martens when I drove to the concert and attending a Deichkind concert in Tea Parties is not the smartest thing to do. It was still fun and survivable!

I made a dress out of a giant mans t-shirt and sprinkled it with neon paint. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it worn, maybe I will wear it again. It looked really good with my waist buckle belt.

What was the last concert you attended and what did you wear? tell me in the comments!

Doctor Who Scarf

I totally forgot to blog about this super nerdy thing I've done!

So, my friend is a huge Doctor Who fan (me actually too) and for Valentines Day I knitted him the Doctor Who scarf (well, Valentines Day was the original deadline I set for me).

A little something about Doctor Who and the scarf. Oh, this is going to be a little complicated. Doctor Who is a British TV series about a time-traveler called the Doctor. The first episode aired on November 23rd 1963. Whenever the Doctor dies, he regenerates and comes back but in a different form, which means whenever one actor is getting too old or wants to do something else, the Doctor dies and a new actor takes over. Until now 11 different actors played the Doctor and all of them had different "costumes"/outfits.

The fourth Doctor had this ridiculous long scarf. Originally the scarf was about 6 meter long but they shortened it for the series. They shortened it, made a duplicate, took parts out, sewed original and duplicate together, made a new one... etc etc... If you are interested in the history of the scarf, you can read about it here (Unfortunately, you can't any longer. The side is down :/). It's actually quite fun to read about it, even though you might not like Doctor Who.

The scarf I made is "only" around 4 meters long. I tried to find one yarn-brand that had all the right colours so the scarf wouldn't look unevenly kitted because of the different wools and thicknesses. It worked out quite well. The wool I found was a little thicker than it should have been so I reduced the stitches from 66 to 40.
It turned out really great and I got a lot of compliments for it (especially from the members of the Doctor Who regulars table which makes me sooo proud!).

Do you knit? Tell me in the comments below!

Fight Like A Girl

Firstly I have to say that I am a HUGE Emilie Autumn fan. I kid you not. She is my goddess and I love her to death. I wanted to see all the shows in my area (Munich, Vienna, Budapest and Innsbruck) but nobody wanted to join me and it wasn't in my budget :/

So, yesterday she was live in concert in Vienna. Finally! The last time, about 2 years ago, she got sick and canceled all the concerts in Austria. The tickets for Vienna were still valid and since I had 2 I took my almost 2 meter tall friend with me ^^ the girls behind us were not happy XD Sorry!

The show was great. Emilie actually started on time. She played a lot of her new songs but I'm still disappointed. There are no VIP tickets for any of the shows in Austria, which sucks, but normally she comes back after the concert to sign stuff and interact with the fans. Now, that didn't happen. Also, during the show she interacted less with her fans than usual and she felt kind of distant. A friend of mine once said, the great thing about her shows is, that you can interact with her so well. That was not the case. Not at all. And it felt like there was no real end to the show. The last times she ended the show with the song "Always look on the bright side" and, oddly enough, they played the song but the crew didn't come back out. That was so strange and left me with an unfinished feeling.

I don't know... I expected so much and feel like I got so little... and I'm not the only one that feels that way. I just got a text from a fellow EA fan she basically says the same thing.

At least I got some awesome bracelets ^^

Girls Problems

I could cry... I ruined my epic platform shoes yesterday. I only wore them out 3 times and now the buckle broke! This shouldn't bother me that much. They are just shoes... But I love those shoes! Ah well, f*ck it.

Skirt, Hoody, Headdress: Ohlala Couture
Blouse: Orsay
Stockings: H&M (Kids department and altered like this)

Oh and I had a nice conversation when I waited for my friend. 3 guys went past me when I got out of the car and stopped to ask me why I'm dresses like I was.
Guys: "Special event?"
me: "no"
"Costume party?"
"Late Halloween?"
"Theme party?"
"You always run around like this?"
"Great! We need a singer for our band. Can you sing?"
Now that I think about it, it's a shame that I said no. Well, I really can't sing but it would be fun to check it out ^^

Talking about "checking it out". I meet my friends friends today (XD) and I want to leave a good first impression which really stresses me because firstly, I'm socially awkward and secondly, I dress odd. First impressions are formed within seconds and a great deal depends on if we like what the other person looks like :/ Soo... once again, I have no idea what I should wear ^^ And my friend is not helpful at all. He said I should keep it casual but my "casual" is still very frilly. Why am I a girl? Couldn't I be a boy? As a boy I could just throw on jeans and a shirt and it would be fine... on the other hand, if I was a boy, I would be the greatest drag queen in history and probably had the same problems as now XD

Have a nice day <3

All dolled up

Good Morning Starshine!

I was out yesterday and I have to show you my kind of inappropriate outfit ^^

Yeah, I don't go out to normal clubs like that ^^ it was one of the "Gothic Proms" in Vienna and a styling like that is pretty normal (though I haven't seen any other girls with taped nipples). Somehow I don't feel uncomfortable walking around like that. It was dark anyways and not that obvious that I don't wear a bra ;)

I haven't been to a Gothic event in a while and I forgot how much I enjoy it! The outfits are amazing, the music is actually music I love to listen to and nobody stares at you if you walk around half naked XD
Also, I have an interesting theory why I like looking so doll-like. Dolls look like people but they are obviously not and since I'm not a fan of "normal people" I like to distance myself from "being human". Somehow it sounded really interesting in my mind at 5 o'clock in the morning ^^

Anyhow, I going to sleep some more now. I hope you have a great weekend!

A small accident and my guilty pleasure

Hey guys!

Today I went out grocery shopping and normally I would just put on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt but today I felt like Lolita. My new jacket is so awesome I want to wear it all the time XD You know the feeling, don't you? ^^

Skirt, Jacket: Oh lala
Socks: Secret Shop (they have a cute knitted pattern)
Cutsew: Baby

So, I drove to the mall and walked into the drugstore. When I walked in, from the corner of my eye I saw this old lady passing me by. She was obviously staring at me, she didn't even try to hide it. I didn't mind it, went straight to the aisle I needed when I heard this weird metallic bang behind me. The lady drove her shopping cart in one of the boxes outside the store with shampoo or shower gel in it ^^ She didn't accidentally hit it when she tried to go around it, no, it was a full on collision! I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn't laugh out loud. I mean, I heard of car accidents because the driver stared at a Lolita but car accidents can be really sucky and not funny. This was HILARIOUS! The look on her face... I really wish y'all could have seen it!

It must have been quiet a loud bang because I heard it even though I had my headphones on ^^ at the moment I'm addicted to Big Bangs new album "Alive" and I listen to it all the time. Big Bang is a Korean pop band and my guilty pleasure. I'm not into pop but there is something about Big Bang that I really enjoy... well... it's T.O.P ^^ I enjoy T.O.P! He is a band member and he is hot. There are normal people, sexy people and then there is T.O.P all above them! He has this eyebrow thing going on... *insert Homer-Simpson-drooling here*
Anyhow, I made a playlist with the new songs. You can listen to it if you want to! Big Bang is a good band to start with kpop because they sound very western and they don't have that obvious Asian sound like most of the kpop or jpop bands.

If you have the time to listen to the playlist, tell me what you think about it in the comments. Also, I want to hear your funny Lolita-related stories so feel free to leave it down below!

I can't sleep. Well that's not true, I'm simply unable to fall asleep. So I decided to read some forum entries on Dunkelsüß. One discussion was especially interesting to me: "Animal ears with Lolita?".

Now, when I started Lolita, wearing animal ears with Lolita was one of the biggest no-goes. Instate of wearing something like that you simply could have tattooed "ita" on your forehead. Since then a lot has changed. Angelic Pretty released several items, blouses, hoodies, headbands, with animal ears. Harlyharlekin uploaded a great picture on Dunkelsüß, wearing a hat with bear ears.

Though I own a beanie and several hoodies with cat ears, I would never wear them with Lolita. I wouldn't feel comfortable in it. (Also, my Emily the Strange stuff doesn't mix well with my Lolita clothes ^^)
Another no-go was non-natural coloured hair. Only Cosplay-Lolitas were wearing pink wigs. I remember that I felt very weird when I wore my pink wig with a Lolita co-ordinate for the first time. Also, I felt the need to justify my decision to wear a pink wig. Then the OTT-Lolita-movement came along and at the moment it seems like the trend goes back from pastel coloured wigs to natural coloured wigs.

Fashion will always "improve itself", also Lolita fashion even though we love our "rules" and some of us will be sceptical. That's the beauty about it. It dares us to be daring :D

What is one thing you never thought would ever happen in Lolita fashion? Tell me in the comments below! To be honest, I never thought someone would wear animal ears to a co-ordinate and it's very unlikely that I will ever wear some.

I got tagged!

*yay* I got tagged :D

The rules:
-Link the person who tagged you.
-Answer the questions.
-Tag 11 other people.
-Ask the tagged ones 11 questions.
-Inform the tagged people.

I got tagged my Mara. Thank you very much!

1.) What's your favourite flavour?
The first thing I thought about was drinks, funnily enough ^^ So, I guess my favourite flavour is orange.

2.) What's your dream destination to travel to?

3.) Do you wear nailpolish?
Not on a regular basis. I rather not wear it.

4.) What would you take with you on a lonely island?
My netbook incl. WLAN, my sewing machine incl. fabric and sun blocker (yeah, I cheated a little there!)

5.) Your favourite weather?
Spring weather

6.) Which characteristic do you wish for?
I have no idea. I wish I was less socially awkward but I guess that's my charm ^^ I wish I was less self centered (when it comes to blogging) but I find it hard to blog about other people than me just because I'm not sure they want to be mentioned :/

7.) Sunshine or shadow?

8.) Can you keep a secret?
I can't tell you. It's a secret ^^

9.) Do you have an idol? If yes, who and why?
Why yes I do. Emilie Autumn, because she plays the violin like a goddess!

10.) What's your favourite piece of clothing?
At the moment the sweater I sewed myself ^^

I am in fact unable to take non-blurry pictures -.-
11.) Is the world going to end this year?
No and I can tell you why. The Mayans had several methods to count time, one of them for very long periods, the "Long Count Calender": one Day is a K'in, 20 days are a called Winal, 18 Winals are a Tun (about one year), 20 Tuns are a K'atun and 20 K'atuns are one B'ak'tun. So year one, day one would look like this: (0 B'ak'tun, 0 K'atun, 0 Tun, 0 Winal, 0 K'in). If you do the math and keep on counting Dec 21st 2012 looks like this:
The Mayan calender starts a new B'ak'tun! YAY! And that's not scary, because the last time that happened... nothing happened! It was on September 18th 1618 btw :D

I tag: Lulu Brokoli, Mini Mo, Elyon, Yuki-chan and Jana-Ellena I wanted to tag Pikku Mansikka too but she already got tagged :D

My 11 questions are:
1. What's your favourite way to dress on a normal day?
2. What's your favourite Lolita style?
3. If you had to shop at one store for the rest of your life, what store would it be? (We are talking about clothes here)
4. What's one thing about you that you love?
5. SciFi or Fantasy?
6. Would you ever buy yourself a Kindle? Would you use it if someone gave it to you as a present?
7. What do you think about Sphynx cats? (Naked kittens :D)
8. Which season of the year do you prefer?
9. Is there a band or musician that you have been loyal for years?
10. Are you an early bird or a night owl?
11. Sweet or Salty?

I wrote this blog entry a while ago and then I somehow forgot about it :/ I'm sorry my blog is so boring at the moment. My life is boring since I moved to my home town *cough* leper colony *cough* but I hope it gets better now that University started! YAY education ^^

Hello Ladies!

I went out to have cocktails yesterday. It was really fun and it made me think about what a good Lolita drink would be. For a Gothic Lolita I would probably order a glass of red wine and for a Sweet Lolita maybe a Strawberry Daiquiri or a simple fruit punch. Well, I stick with my very manly White Russian, Dude :D

If you don't know the movie "The Big Lebowski" you won't get that reference... sorry!

And this is what I wore:

Dress, Socks, Necklace: Angelic Pretty
Cardigan, Headbow: Ohlala Couture

I still have to figure out a good angle to take pictures and my face just looks... urgh -.- I looked cute in that outfit, the picture is simply not good! (lame excuse is lame XD)

What's your favourite drink or cocktail? Tell me in the comments below!
